PSDS Youth Club
At PMActive, we are committed to equipping young people with the skills and confidence they need to thrive. Our PSDS youth club, provides a safe and supportive space for young people with Down's Syndrome to develop independence, build social skills, and stay active.
PSDS YOUTH CLUB: 11 - 16 Years
What to expect
At PMActive, we understand that the teenage years are a time of growth, independence, and learning new skills—both socially and personally. That’s why, in partnership with PSDS, we run a closed youth group designed to give young people a safe and supportive space to connect, build confidence, and practise key life skills.
PSDS is a parent-led registered charity providing support for children and young people who have Down syndrome living in Surrey and West Sussex. It is run by families for families, they offer a range of specialist services for babies, toddlers, children, teenagers, and young adults. Together, we provide a welcoming environment where teenagers & young adults can enjoy friendships, develop communication skills, and take part in activities that encourage independence.
Facilitated by our experienced PMActive youth team, sessions provide a relaxed, low-pressure space tailored to the needs of the group.
Activities may include:
-
Social games and team challenges to build confidence and communication skills
-
Creative activities to explore interests and self-expression
-
Opportunities to practise independence through group-led tasks and projects
Every session is carefully designed to ensure all participants feel comfortable, supported, and able to engage at their own pace. As with all PMActive programmes, our closed youth group is fully inclusive—welcoming young people of all abilities and backgrounds.
